NDAA Compliance Review

How Is NDAA Section 889 Significant for Camera Procurement?

National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Compliance ensures that cameras do not contain “covered telecommunications equipment, video surveillance equipment or services” from the banned manufacturers listed under Section 889 of the Act, which could otherwise expose systems to cybersecurity risks.

It prohibits federal agencies and contractors from entering into contracts, investments, or other transactions with foreign entities that could compromise U.S. defense systems or critical infrastructure. It reflects ongoing concerns about national security and the need for efficient and secure supply chains in defense-related activities.

For camera-led systems, buyers need assurance that the selected camera hardware avoids restricted vendors and components.

How We Ensure End-to-End NDAA Compliance

e-con Systems' NDAA-compliant cameras are not manufactured by, do not contain components from, and do not incorporate critical components from entities identified as restricted under applicable U.S. regulatory requirements stated under Section 889 of the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). e-con Systems also does not knowingly procure, including but not limited to, parts/components from entities or manufacturers identified under FAR 52.204-24, FAR 52.204-25, and FAR 52.204-26, or from their subsidiaries and affiliates.

All components of our NDAA-compliant products are sourced from approved manufacturers and undergo rigorous validation.

We follow the applicable contractual clause for NDAA compliance regarding subcontractors and suppliers.

We maintain ongoing surveillance over our systems and supply chains to support ongoing compliance.
