1.1 What is the camera sensor used in e-CAM131_CUiMX8?
 
e-CAM131_CUiMX8 camera module is based on 1/3.2" inch AR1335 image sensor from onsemi® with on board Image Signal Processor (ISP).
 
1.2 What are the kit contents provided with the product?
 
e-CAM131_CUiMX8 camera consists of one 13MP e-CAM137A_CUMI1335_MOD MIPI camera board with lens, one camera adapter board, one Ixora adaptor board, one micro coaxial cable, and one flex cable.
 
1.3 What is the length of the cable provided with this product?
 
e-CAM131_CUiMX8 is provided with 30cm micro co-axial cable and 10cm flex cable.

The power consumption of the camera is between 0.4W to 1.4W.
 
1.5 Do we need to provide any external power source to this camera?
 
The camera uses the necessary power supply from the development kit itself. No external power supply is required for the camera.
 
1.6 What is the operating and storage temperature range of the product?
 
The temperature range varies between -30°C to 70°C (ambient temperature)
 
1.7 What is the form factor of the camera?
 
The form factor of camera module is 30mm x 30mm (W X H).
 
1.8 What is the size of the camera adapter board?
 
The form factor of camera adapter board is 30mm x 30mm (W x H).
 
1.9 What is the weight of the camera module?
 
The e-CAM137A_CUMI1335_MOD camera module weighs 6 grams (without lens).
 2. Camera parameters
  
2.1 What are the resolutions supported by the camera?
 
The camera supports standard resolutions are VGA (640 x 480), HD (1280 x 720), Full HD (1920 x 1080), 4K (3840 x 2160) and the full resolution - 13MP (4192 x 3120)
 
2.2 How many MIPI Lanes does this camera support?
 
The camera supports 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 interface with Ixora board for high data bandwidth.
 
2.3 Does this camera have an on-board Image Signal Processor (ISP)?
 
The e-CAM131_CUiMX8 camera has an onboard ISP which takes care of the complete imaging pipeline right from De-Bayering, color correction and supports various standard image quality controls.

2.4 What are the various camera parameters supported by this camera?
 
The camera supports standard V4L2 controls such as brightness, contrast, zoom, flip (Horizontal and Vertical), white balance – Auto and Manual, exposure – Auto and Manual, Sharpness.
 
2.5 What is the digital zoom range supported by this camera?
 
The camera supports 1X to 8X digital zoom levels.
 
2.6 Does this camera support OpenCV and ML libraries such as TensorFlow Lite?
 
The camera is supported as a standard V4L2 device which can be integrated into different SD environments as OpenCV and ML libraries to stream images and process as supported by the platform.
 
2.7 What is the maximum FOV covered using the default lens provided with the camera?
 
The maximum FOV covered by the lens is 110°(D), 88°(H), 65°(V).
 
2.8 What is the FOV covered in different resolutions supported by this camera?
 
For resolutions of 4:3 aspect ratio, the FOV is 110°(D), 88°(H), 65°(V). For resolutions of 16:9 aspect ratio, the horizontal FOV will remain same. The VFOV will be reduced by a factor of 1.3 units in length. The DFOV will also reduce accordingly.
 
2.9 What is the minimum focus distance of the camera?
 
The minimum working distance of the camera is 100mm.
 
2.10 What is the CPU usage for this camera?
 
The CPU usage for the streaming of camera is 4-7% with display streaming and 2-3 % without display streaming.
 
2.11 What is the glass-to-glass latency for this camera?
 
The glass-to-glass latency is typically 3-6 frame time (frame time (ms) = 1/ FPS). It is 80 - 100ms for - 1080p resolution at 60 fps.
 3. Software package details
  
3.1 What are the contents of the SDK package given along with the camera?
 
You can download pre-built BSP binary for the Toradex Ixora development kit with Apalis iMX8QM SOM for instant evaluation of the camera streaming and controls. The camera driver and Kernel patches are also available to integrate into custom development setup.
 
3.2 Where can I find the camera driver source code?
 
The source code for the camera driver for i.MX8QM along with the necessary kernel and device tree patches are provided in the software release package.
 
3.3 What are the sample applications given along with the package?
 
The prebuilt binary contains the gstreamer based gst capture application that supports the streaming, still capture and camera controls to be evaluated.

3.4 Does the camera support Torizon OS with Apalis i.MX 8QM?
 
The camera is compatible with Torizon OS for i.MX 8QM with the Ixora development kit.
 
3.5 Does the camera support Android OS with Apalis i.MX 8QM?
 
Currently the camera has support for the Embedded Linux and Torizon OS. For Android support please write to sales@e-consystems.com
 
3.6 How to connect the camera to the Ixora development kit?
 
Kindly refer the e-CAM131_CUiMX8 Getting started Manual.pdf from Developer Resources website to find more details on how to connect the camera with Ixora development kit
 4. Customization requests
  
4.1 Is it possible to get RAW Bayer frames from the camera?
 
By default, e-CAM131_CUiMX8 camera module does not support RAW Bayer format. e-con Systems can customize the camera driver and the firmware according to your requirement. Kindly write your requirements to sales@e-consystems.com.
 
4.2 How to add support for custom resolution?
 
It is possible to support custom resolution in the firmware. For customization, please write to sales@e-consystems.com
 
4.3 I need a different lens to cover more FOV. How to do it?
 
The camera supports M12 lens holder. You shall be able to use any standard S-mount lens (M12 x 0.5) with the default lens holder. Please write to sales@e-consystems.com for lens suggestions

4.4 Can I change the lens mount from S-mount to C-mount?
 
It is possible to support C-mount lens holder as a hardware customization effort.
 
4.5 Is it possible to use the camera with Apalis iMX6 instead of i.MX8?
 
e-CAM131_CUiMX8 camera is compatible with both Apalis i.MX6 and i.MX8, since Ixora development kit supports both these processors. Software drivers needs to be chosen based on the processor.
 
4.6 Is it possible to use the camera with Apalis/Verdin/Dahlia development kit instead of Ixora carrier board?
 
Current version of the adapter board is compatible with Ixora board. Support shall be extended in future revisions for Verdin and Dahlia carrier boards.
4.7 Can we use the same camera with other i.MX 8QM carrier boards?
 
For other development kits, adapter board and software should be modified. Please write to sales@e-consystems.com for your customization request.
 
4.8 Does this camera have Strobe support (as in the OV5640 camera module with Ixora)?
 
Currently, the Strobe option is not supported. For customization, please write to sales@e-consystems.com.
 
4.9 Is there any way to synchronize this camera with other sensors in my carrier board?
 
Synchronization using external trigger pulse is possible with e-CAM131_CUiMX8 through customization. Please write to sales@e-consystems.com with your requirement.

5.1 Is this camera FCC/CE certified?
 
The e-CAM131_CUiMX8 is a RoHS compliant OEM camera module. e-con Systems recommends customers to integrate the camera module in their target products for the final certifications like CE/FCC.
 
5.2 Are there any mechanical and temperature test reports available for the camera?
 
The camera is tested for some environmental test conditions specific to Temperature and Vibrational cases. Reliability test report will be shared with customers on case to case basis.
 
5.3 Where and how to get support for the basic integration and testing the camera?
