August 1st 2007- e-con announces 3rd design win for customizing its reference design Sirius
e-con Systems, Embedded Design Services company, based out of Chennai, India, has announced that it has won a 3rd design win for customizing
its PXA270 reference design Sirius. The design win is for designing a handheld point of sale terminal that would be running Windows CE 6.0.
The earlier two design wins was for designing a loyalty management terminal and for designing a pollution level measurement device.

June 2nd, 2007- e-con Systems foray's into manufacturing Services by completing design, development and Manufacturing of Information Exchange Unit.
e-con Systems announces stepping into Manufacturing services after successful completion and deployment of Information Exchange Unit,
for a US based customer in a record time of five Months. Facing huge challenge of getting the product out in market in time, It was the first
assignment, where e-con took the responsibility of manufacturing and shipping the finished product (1000 No’s in initial Lot), along with the design &

May 28th, 2007- e-con Systems announces Design Win on Free Scale’s i.MX31 multimedia application processor.
e-con Systems, a leading design services company based out of chennai, India today announced that it
has grabbed an order for board design based on Free Scale's i.MX31 processor running Linux 2.6.18.
The project involves design and development of board running on i.MX 31 processor at 532 Mhz.
supporting peripherals like Wi-Fi, Ethernet with a considerably long battery back up.
e-con was selected for its expertise in hardware design suitable for low power consumption as well as its
ability to take full responsibility for end to end product development, starting from concept to board

e-con Systems announces the availability of DirectShow-compliant Camera driver support for its e-CAM, a Plug-and-Play
Camera Module Product Line, on Windows Embedded CE 6.0 platform. e-con has already been licensing its Stream Interface
based Camera drivers and Camera modules for Windows CE 5.0 platform. With the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 platform, e-con’s
new release of Camera Drivers will be DirectShow-compliant, so that any standard Windows CE DirectShow filter with compatible
interface can be connected directly to the Camera Capture source filter through DirectShow Middleware. The camera modules

e-con Systems announces Windows embedded CE 6.0 BSP support on Marvel/Intel Xscale PXA270 based platform "Sirius"
e-con Systems announces the availability of Windows Embedded CE 6.0 BSP on Sirius reference
platform. The Sirius platform features 3.5" LCD with touch screen and includes a range of I/O
and expansion slot including CompactFlash® connectors and a SD/MMC connector that can be
used to add WiFi Connectivity or additional memory, USB host (2) and client (1), 2 Serial Ports,
10/100 Ethernet, Blue tooth and Audio in/out. For storage the platform consists of 8gigabit of
NAND flash and provides file system support on the same on Windows CE. Added to this Sirius
has an external camera module which has drivers for Windows CE 6.0.
Recently introduced enhanced version of Windows Embedded by Microsoft i.e. CE 6.0 kernel
architecture provides support for up to 32,000 processes - each with 2GB of virtual memory
space along with support for larger file systems and better disk caching. Feature rich and
integrated environment of Visual Studio 2005 allows both operating system and application
development using C++, C# (.Net CF framework) and Visual Basic. In addition to all these,
Windows CE 6.0 supports camera driver MDI interface with directshow. As a result there is no
need of any special applications needed for capturing the stream and applications can directly
use directshow API. This creates lots of flexibility like encoding the Video and streaming it
through the network.

February 1st, 2007- e-con Systems announces reference design for PXA320
e-con Systems, a design services company based out of Chennai, India today announced that it would start developing a reference platform out of PXA320. e-con systems had earlier designed and developed a reference platform named Sirius based on Marvell's PXA270 that had helped it to customize solutions to various customers. PXA320 has a lot of new features such as DDR SDRAM, USB 2.0 client interface, internal boot ROM, 800 MHz core clock and 5M pixel CMOS image sensor support. The company feels that the design should help its customers to reach the market faster with more powerful features. The reference design is expected to be ready by July 2007.
January 20th, 2007- e-con Systems completes Windows CE 5.0 porting for PXA255 platform
e-con Systems, a design services company based out of Chennai, India today announced that it has ported Windows CE 5.0 on a custom platform developed by its customer, Mphasis an EDS company based out of Bangalore. Camera Sensor Module:
The camera sensor can be used as an "add on" module to be interfaced with the PXA270 quick capture Interface for any available board using processor from PXA27x and above. The driver for the camera sensor and an application to view the video & capture the still images (upto a resolution of 1280 x 1024) are available as part of the said camera module
Customers can buy this daughter card along with complete schematics, driver dll, driver API and the view finder application source for a one time license fee from e-con systems. The camera sensor from Omnivision handling 1.3M is being used in the current module which can be changed to a high quality big resolution camera sensor, as per the customer requirement.
Windows CE Flash Media Drivers:
FMD software is a customizable component that can support any NAND flash chips and is designed to be interface-agnostic. The FMD supports ECC and has been tested on e-con's PXA270 based Sirius Reference Platform. Any standard Windows CE file system such as FATFS or TSFAT can be integrated on top of this FMD.
This customizable NAND flash FMD can be used by its customers who are using the NAND flash in their designs. As the NAND flash chips are gaining broader acceptance in embedded domain, the availability of such NAND flash FMD drivers will help OEMs to speed up the time-to-market of its products.
December 27th, 2006- e-con Systems announces securing a Smart Card Design project win.
e-con Systems, a design services company based out of chennai, India today announced that it has won an order for software development from a major provider of Smart card solutions based out of HongKong.
The software development shall involve the support of read/write of Smart cards from Mi-Fare series from NXP Semiconductors. It shall also involve supporting multiple cards from Mi-Fare series such as 1K, 4K, Ultra light and Desfire at the same time. e-con Systems shall develop the complete code on a ATMEL based ARM controller which shall work with 16K of RAM and 16K of flash storage. It shall also provide the API for communication with the host interface. The host interface for the smart card module shall be a POS terminal through the RS232 interface on the ATMEL processor.
December 23th, 2006- e-con Systems announces Windows CE 5.0/6.0 BSP support for Intel PXA255 Lubbock platform

October 15th, 2006- e-con Systems opens Branch Office in Chennai
e-con Systems, a premier Design Services company in Embedded Domain, today announced the opening of its new branch office in Ashok Nagar, signaling the company’s increasing commitment for establishing quality infrastructure for better customer service. August 7th, 2006- e-con provides solutions based on its Sirius platform for Pollution level Measurement on Windows CE
e-con Systems shares another success story by announcing it's latest contract signup with an Indian company specialized into manufacturing of devices for Pollution level measurement whereby it will use e-con's Sirius platform/design to custom design a handheld which shall be used for Pollution level measurement. The handheld, having an in-built camera to capture the image of the vehicle will communicate with the measuring instrument using a Bluetooth port and will possess a 320x240 LCD Screen to view the information. 'SIRIUS' will be used for in-house testing purpose till the Handheld is available for testing.

May 5th, 2006- e-con Systems showcases the Qtopia on the PXA270 based Sirius Platform
e-con Systems, earlier announced the availability of the PXA270 based customizable hardware platform, code named Sirius. To reduce the Time-to-Market, e-con has announced separate software development programs to port Linux and Windows CE. The Linux (kernel version 2.6.15) porting and customization for Sirius platform is complete with all the hardware peripherals on this platform supported and tested. e-con has also successfully demonstrated the Qtopia Desktop Environment on the Sirius platform with Keyboard, Mouse and Touch screen support on the 240x320 LCD panel (built on-board). e-con can also port other GUI frameworks such GTK (over tiny-X) based on customer requests.
