e-con Systems’ STURDeCAM12 is a new 1.3MP automotive-grade camera developed for rear-view, 360° surround-view, and mobility systems. Up to 120dB HDR

STURDeCAM12 enables a maximum dynamic range of up to 120dB. Its HDR capability retains enhanced detail despite tough environments where the captured scene contains a broad range of brightness levels.

High sensitivity

The camera delivers superior-quality visuals in bright daylight and low-light conditions. The OX01G10 sensor provides a sensitivity of 32500 e/Lux-sec and a maximum signal-to-noise ratio of 42dB, with OMNIVISION’s PureCel® Plus technology contributing to its imaging performance.

1.3MP OMNIVISION OX01G10 color sensor

STURDeCAM12 houses OMNIVISION’s 1.3MP OX01G10 color image sensor. The sensor has a 1/3.55-inch optical format, a 3μm × 3μm pixel size, an active area of 1340 × 1020 pixels, and an electronic rolling shutter.

In-built ISP

STURDeCAM12’s OX01G10 sensor includes an in-built ISP. Image signal processing is therefore integrated within the sensor used by STURDeCAM12.

GMSL2 connectivity up to 15m

This camera’s GMSL2 interface carries power and data – with cable lengths up to 15m. It uses a FAKRA connector and comes with a 3m cable by default, with a 15m cable option available from e-con Systems.

External trigger support

STURDeCAM12 comes with external trigger support for synchronized streaming. The trigger input aligns capture timing across cameras used within the same synchronized configuration.

Multiple resolution options

STURDeCAM12 ensures 1280 × 1020, 1280 × 960, and 1280 × 720 resolutions at 30fps. The camera offers YUV output, while the sensor output format is UYVY.

Fixed-focus M12 lens

The camera uses a fixed-focus lens with an M12 S-mount holder. e-con Systems also makes it easy to change lenses for use cases with different FOV and optical requirements.

Compact IP69K-rated enclosure

STURDeCAM12 comes inside a compact and rugged automotive-grade IP69K-rated enclosure. With the lens included, the camera measures 25mm × 25mm × 42.79mm.

Wide operating temperature range

The camera operates in temperatures from -40°C to 85°C. This range covers both low-temperature and high-temperature deployment conditions.

Automotive EMC and environmental compliance

STURDeCAM12 comes with FCC Part 15 Subpart B Class B, CE, and RoHS compliance. Its radiated emission standards include CISPR 32, CISPR 25, ISO 14982, and ISO 13766-1, while its radiated immunity standards include EN 61000-4-3, ISO 11452-2, ISO 11452-4, ISO 13766-1, and ISO 14982.

Environmental coverage includes ISO 16750-3 for shock, drops, and vibration. ISO 16750-4 covers heat, cold, and humidity.

Processor platform support

STURDeCAM12 is compatible with NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin, Jetson Orin NX, Qualcomm, and Renesas platforms. An evaluation kit is available for the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit.
