Windows Embedded Compact / Windows CE - Sensor Drivers
There are many sensors that get integrated onto an embedded device for a variety of purposes.
Apart from giving the sensor information to users, there are alternate requirements like taking actions based on sensor feedback thereby improving user experience.
Many of these sensors communicate with the processor over a SPI, i2c or serial interface.
A few commonly used sensors are
Accelerometer and Gyroscope
Proximity Sensor / Hall effect Sensing
Ambient Light Sensor
e-con Systems has integrated these sensors into embedded devices and have used it for a number of different applications where auto detection of orientation and tilt, taking necessary action etc. are required.
Other applications include
Tamper proofing of device
Automatic dimming of LCD based on ambient light
e-con Systems engineers have developed software to handle the low level configuration of these sensors and the communication between these sensors and the application processors.
e-con System has built in API and SDK set for the these sensor devices and have exposed them to the applications at the User level. Support has been provided for both Managed (.NET C#) and Unmanaged code (C, C++).
