Dec 20th 2005- e-con Systems announces the availability of the PXA270 based Reference Platform, codenamed Sirius

e-con Systems announces the availability of the Sirius Reference Platform based on PXA270 processor from Intel. This Xscale processor based platform, code named Sirius is targeted for use as a reference platform for a variety of consumer and industrial applications ranging from Video streaming terminal, Portable media players, Video conferencing nodes, Handheld data loggers, Billing machines, Information kiosks etc.

e-con Systems earlier in August 2005, announced the development of production-ready, easy-to-tailor reference platform based on Intel Xscale Processor running on Windows CE 5.0 for a variety of applications. This platform features 520MHz Intel PXA270 processor with 32/64MB NOR Flash, NAND flash, 128MB/256MB SDRAM, Bluetooth, CompactFlash-based 802.11B/G WLAN, IDE interface, Video Camera interface, Wired 10/100Mbps Ethernet and other interfaces and devices. The hardware design and development is completed and the basic Windows CE 5.0 customization and porting is currently being done. The customers can evaluate the Windows CE powered Sirius Reference Platform starting from mid of Q1-2006. e-con Systems announces the development of the PXA270 based Reference Platform, Sirius, intended for a variety of Video and Handheld applications. This platform features 520MHz Intel PXA270 processor with 32/64MB NOR Flash, NAND flash, 128MB/256MB SDRAM, Bluetooth, CF-based-WLAN, IDE interface, Video Camera interface,  Wired 10/100Mbps Ethernet and other interfaces and devices.

e-con will have standard applications like Video Conferencing, Portable Meida Player, Handheld data-logging/billing terminal etc., developed on this platform which will serve as a starting point for our customers, who are willing to develop such products. e-con shall also customize this Hardware platform to suit the requirements of our customers and will develop applications. This enable our customers to have faster and efficient product development with shorter time-to-market.

Dec 28th 2004- e-con wins order to port MPEG2/4 decoder on TI DSP DM642 based PCI card running DSP/BIOS...

e-con Systems, a fast growing Product Development Partner(PDP), wins order to port MPEG2/4 decoder on TI DSP DM642 based running DSP/BIOS for a US based Customer. This PCI formfactor card has a Motorola PowerPC processor MPC8260 running Nucleus RTOS. The MPEG2/4 streams are received from a Gigabit Ethernet port and the MPC8260 processor switches these streams to one of the two DM642 processors in the same card over internal PCI bus. These streams are decoded by the DM642 processors and are sent to the PC through PCI bus. A single PCI card can support a maximum of 4 independant streams. e-con shall also be responsible for Windows Device driver development and the PC side Video application with PVR capabilities.

Sep 6th 2004- e-con bags order to develop DSP based Video conferencing solutions

e-con Systems headquartered at Chennai, India with expertise in DSP has bagged the order to provide DSP based software solutions for a US based customer. The product is a USB based Video conferencing device that works on H264 standard. e-con will be responsible for development of DSP firmware and PC side device drivers.

July 7th 2004- Microsoft acknowledges e-con as embedded partner

Microsoft Corporation has announced e-con Systems as one of its embedded partners. This has come in the wake of e-con Systems offering successful embedded design solutions on Windows CE .NET and Windows XP embedded. The partnership allows e-con Systems to have access credentials to the Windows Embedded Partner Extranet and make use of the previlged resources provided by Microsoft. e-con Systems can leverage this partnership to offer better solutions to its customers.

April 29th 2004- e-con delivers Finger print Authentication system based on uClinux on MCF5272

e-con Systems headquartered at Chennai, India delivers Finger print authentication solutions based on uCLinux for a leading OEM based in Bangalore. This is a Finger-print/Password/RFID based Authentication system that can interface with the doors of residential/commercial premises. These security units can be networked so that all these units will share a common database residing in the Master node or any X86 system, that acts as a Master. The Authentication is Finger-print + Password or Finger-print + RFID. All the security nodes are networked with DHCP support, access log information from all these units are updated on the Master. Also user registration, user access control, log information control, etc, are configured using the Browser interface.
