1. Would e-CAM work on any PXA270 or higher board having quick capture interface, as a plug in module?
The camera module currently works on e-con’s PXA270 reference platform(Sirius) and on Karo’s Triton Starter kit 3. Efforts are being made to port to other standard modules as well. However for any customized platform of the customer e-con can port the driver in a matter of 2 weeks and build a custom module for the PXA270 board as well that fits in to the board. The e-CAM uses the PXA270 quick capture interface and hence any development board would be able to support e-CAM with some changes to the hardware.
2. How will you ensure that your e-CAM is working, once it reaches us? I.e. how will we test the e-CAM and the application we are targeting?
We will send a test Platform along with for the testing purpose, returnable after a period of 4 weeks.
3. Details about the test platform? Is there any option to buy the same as well?
Yes, customers interested in buying the test platform can buy it at an additional cost of US$ 1000.
4. What all possible upgrades are available in terms on mega Pixel and how it works? If we need to upgrade to a 2 Megapixel sensor, do we need a different Daughter card? How will this affect the software?
Yes, for a 2 Megapixel it will be a different daughter card and will have a different driver as well. For customers who have purchased our 1.3Megapixel image sensor, upgrading to the 2M pixel sensor comes at a minimal additional cost for US $500.
5. What are the dimensions of the e-CAM? (With sensor installed)?
PCB (l X b X h) is 30 mm X 34 mm X 1.8 mm & the connector mounting adds to 10 mm of height
